Ravelympics 2008


Mein erster Beitrag zur Ravelympics 2008 Event WIP Wrestling ist fertig!!!
My first contribution for the Ravelympics 2008 event WIP Wrestling is finished!!!

Ein wirklich grosses Projekt war diese handgesponnene Fair Isle Cardigan aus dem Buch Stitch'n Bitch Nation. Ich hatte reichlich deutsche Eiderwolle versponnen und gefärbt, dann bin ich kurz vor Beginn der Ravelympics noch auf die Idee gekommen, diese Jacke anzumelden. So ganz spontan, was eine gute Idee war, schliesslich habe ich sonst nur zwei weitere Projekte am Start.
Nun, am Abend vor Beginn der Olympiade war ich so weit: Vorder- und Rückenteil bis zum Beginn der Passe und einen Ärmel gestrickt.

A quite large project was this Handspun Fair Isle Cardigan from the book Stitch'n Bitch Nation. I had spun and dyed lots of german Eiderwolle, and very shortly before the start of the Ravelympics I had the great idea to sign up this cardigan. It was an impulse reaction and a good idea because I have only two other projects for the Ravelympics.
So, at the evening before the Olympic Games I had knit the front and back to the yoke and one sleeve:



Dann habe ich mich in einen kurzen Sprint gestürzt und habe soeben (14:40 Uhr) die Jacke fertig gestellt. Ich musste sogar die Knöpfe noch schnell aus Fimo zaubern, weil ich höchstens 5 gleiche Knöpfe vorrätig hatte. Uff! Aber geschafft und die Jacke ist wirklich sehr, sehr schön geworden. Ich bin ziemlich stolz auf mich, da ich seit ca. 25 Jahren kein farbiges Muster mehr gestrickt habe!!!

Then I sprinted all the way up and finished it a few minutes ago. I even had to form the buttons of Fimo as I had only 5 equal buttons in stock. Whew! It is finished and this cardigan is really very, very beautifull. I am quite proud as I have not knitted colorworks for at least 25 years!!!



Während der Eröffnungszeremonie der Spiele habe ich meinen Eiskristall angeschlagen. Ich bin ziemlich weit gekommen, obwohl ich doch sehr von den schönen Bildern abgelenkt war:
During the opening ceremony of the games I cast on my Eiskristall (ice crystall). I did the first repeat of the pattern but I was very distracted by the wonderfull pictures...



Auch beim Pearled Romance bin ich gut vorangekommen, ich habe bis zum Clue 8 gestrickt. Jetzt noch der 9. Clue und ich habe Pause bis Donnerstag...
Also the Pearled Romance came along, I did clue 8. Now I just have to knit clue 9 and then have to wait until thursday for clue 10...
