Katastrophe! Disaster!


Was ist mit das Schlimmste, was einer Strickerin passieren kann? Eine gebrochene Nadel. Und was kann das noch toppen? Keine Ersatznadel und es ist nach Ladenschluss...
What is the worst thing that can happen to a knitter? A broken needle. And can this get worse? Yes, when there is no other needle and all the shops are closed...

Ich habe letzte Woche sehr fleissig an meiner Rostwolle gesponnen und die erste Hälfte ist fertig. 80g und eine Lauflänge von ca. 600m, ich habe diesmal 19:1 mit einfädigem Gummiriemenantrieb gesponnen. Unverzwirntes Lacegarn ist es geworden! Hurra!!! Und das wird mal mein "Pearled Romance", ich habe mich nämlich der Knitting-Delight-Gruppe angeschlossen, weil ich von den Tüchern der Wolllust so begeistert bin. Eigentlich war das Garn ja für den Sotsiii gedacht, aber ich hatte keine passende Perlen gefunden. Jetzt habe ich Perlen bekommen und mich gleich auf diesen schönen Schal gestürzt.

I did a lot of spinning last week and finished the first half of my Rostwolle (rusty yarn). 80g and about 600m, i spun 19:1 with single drive. Unplyed lace yarn!!! Yeah!!! And this will be the yarn for my "Pearled Romance", I have joined the Knitting-Delight-group because I am thrilled by the shawls of Wolllust. Actual this yarn was meant for the Sotsii, but I haven't found matching beads. Now I have beads and I wanted to knit something with the yarn and the beads at once.

Beim Stricken auf meiner Lieblingsliege auf meiner Terrasse ist mir dann das passiert:

Ich habe mich auf die Bambusnadel gesetzt!!! Und leider hat sie das nicht überlebt!!! *heul* Meine einzige Nadel in Stärke 2.5mm!!!! Ok, nicht die einzige, oder? Ich suchte und fand noch eine sehr, sehr alte, sehr kurze Rundstricknadel der gleichen Stärke. Allerdings ist diese Nadel totale Grütze, weil die Nadeln selbst viel zu kurz sind. Ich kann die nicht halten!!! Will jemand eine schöne, alte, kurze Rundstricknadel in 2.5mm haben?
Dummerweise war es schon nach 18:00 Uhr und somit zu spät, noch zum nächsten Lys zu sprinten. Mist! Erstmal Nadeln bestellen, ich wollte mir eh schon die ganze Zeit dünne Knitpicks-Nadeln bestellen, das ist eine hervorragende Ausrede einzukaufen (auch ein bisschen Wolle)!
Aber ich wollte meinen Clue noch schaffen! Ohne Nadel, bzw. mit zu kurzer Nadel ist das nichts. Ich habe weiter gesucht und zum Glück schmeisse ich ja - was Strickkram angeht - nie etwas weg. Ich habe zwei einzelne Jackenstricknadeln in der richtigen Stärke gefunden!!! Super! Doch zu früh gefreut: Einerseits braucht man total viel Platz, so konnte ich nicht mehr auf meiner Liege weiter arbeiten und andererseits ist es total unbequem, mit den langen Dingern herumzufuchteln! Trotzdem habe ich meinen ersten Clue geschafft.

I sat on my bamboo needle!!! And it didn't survive!!!! *cry* This was my only needle size 2.5mm!!!! Well, really not the only one? I was searching and found a very, very old and very short circular needle in the same size. But this needle is rubbish, it is way too short for my hands! I can't hold them!! Anybody out there who wants an old short circular needle?
Stupidly it was after 18:00 and therefore to late to go shopping in the lys. Bullshit! But first I ordered new needles online, I wanted to order knitpicks-needles anyway and that was a good excuse to buy some (and yarn *sigh*).
But I wanted to complete the first clue! Without needles or with needles too short this is impossible. So I looked again and I am so happy that I don't throw away anything (what has to do something with knitting). I found two single needles in the right size!!! Wow! But the thrill was too early: You need much more space for knitting so I had to stop knitting on my sunloungher :-( and for me it is uncomfortable to knit with these long things! Nevertheless I finished the first clue!

Heute kam Wolle! Ich habe sie getauscht gegen das Strickmusterbuch, das ich doppelt hatte! Hurra! Sockenwolle in dieser tollen Farbkombination!!!
Today this yarn arrived! I swapped a knitting book for it wich I had twice. Yippee! Sock yarn in this great colors!
