Secret spinning


Nachdem ich nun die Wolle für die Strickjacke fertig gefärbt habe, kommt nun das Projekt Secret of the Stole III dran. Zufrieden bin ich gerade gar nicht...
After finishing and dyeing the yarn for the cardigan I turn to the next project - Secret of the Stole III. But I am not so happy at this time...

Hier ist sie, meine Eiderwolle in braun, natur, rot und orange! ;-)

In der Zwischenzeit sind auch meine Luftikus-Socken fertig geworden, ich habe Reste von meinem grossen Vorrat an Fauveline Wolle verwendet...
In the meantime my Luftikus-Socks are finished. I used leftovers from my big stash of Fauveline yarn...



Und nun habe ich mich auf die Feuerwolle gestürzt und einmal losgesponnen. Ich werde das Garn als Single verwenden, also unverzwirnt. Bei der ersten Hochrechnung kam ich auf knapp 900m pro 100g, also zu wenig. Dachte ich. Und mit den Perlen in orangerot sieht die Feuerwolle auch nicht gut aus. Finde ich. Nun habe ich kurzerhand schnell noch Spinnfasern in rot und orange bestellt, passend zu den schon gekauften Perlen, in der Hoffnung, dass das zusammen passt. Dann habe ich doch mal die Tüte mit der Feuerwolle gewogen und musste fast schreien! Ich habe tatsächlich 160g davon! Also selbst, wenn ich dicker spinnen würde, würde es auf jeden Fall reichen. ;-) Allerdings war ich ja mit der Kombination der Perlen nicht glücklich.
Da die Wollknoll-Lieferung sicher noch ein paar Tage dauert, spinne ich jetzt die Feuerwolle (vielleicht eher Rost-Wolle) weiter, die will ich unbedingt zu einem ganz leichten Tuch verarbeiten..

And now I jumped to the Feuerwolle (looks like fire) and started spinning. I will use the yarn as single, unplied. The first estimation was about 900m with 100g that's too less. I thought. And the color would never match with the beads in orange-red. I think. So without furher ado I ordered fiber in red and orange matching with the already buyed beads hoping this will all look great. Then I put the bag with the Feuerwolle on the weight and had to cry! I have 160g!! Even if I would spin a thicker yarn it would be enough! ;-) But I was unhappy with the combination of the beads. The delivery of Wollknoll will last a few days so I am spinnning the Feuerwolle (perhaps I should rename it, it looks rusty) at last. I will knit a very fine shawl from that yarn...
